Shahida Begum, wife of a farmer residing in a village of Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia district had diagnosed with breast cancer after undergoing surgery for a tumor in last year. She has been prescribed for treatment through a total 12 round of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The expensive treatment method was a real burden to the family as they live on small piece of land which already has been mortgaged to continue her treatment. While the 5th round of chemo was approaching and having found no funding for the expense, the patient came to know about the Roma Foundation and approached for financial support for chemotherapy. The foundation promptly responded to the appeal and its Vice Chairman Mrs. Roslin Mitu Corraya handed over the chemotherapy expenses to the patient at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib University Hospital. Mr James Dilip Dhaki executive member of Roma Foundation and Rafiqul Islam, husband of the patient was also present at the hospital.
